On our way

We are finally on the road!!!!!!!!!!
All the way to Toowoomba. Yes we know it's not a ground breaking travel destination accomplishment BUT we are out of Brisbane. Kids are happy ( Angus hasn't stopped whistling and singing), nothing to do with their birthday tomorrow. Incidentally, Happy Birthday to all those others in "Club 27" (Isabelle B, Janelle, Kerry and Paddi).

Next time we do this we are definitely going to start packing the house earlier and being more organised with the luggage. Needed a severe cull of luggage from 4 bags down to 2. Finally got everything packed. Angus had to travel the first 100kms on the bonnet before the luggage had settled and he could fit back inside the car...lol.
Hoping for a few more kms tomorrow.

Getting ready for the trip.

We have been flat out packing up the house and organising our gear for the trip. What seemed a daunting task is fast becoming a reality. Angus and I had the opportunity to test out our tent at Sommerset Dam thanks to the Kedron Scouts. We had dropped Marie and Claire at the airport for their Sydney girlie weekend of Mary Poppins and ABBA, and after fluffing about managed to arrive after dark and in the rain. The Oz Tent worked a treat going up in no time and we were able to unpack the car without getting everything wet. ( thanks Fiona and Cam for your help.)

Sunday is fast approaching and we are all getting excited. Whether we will be ready or not is not a huge issue. If we are not ready we will go Monday. Thanks to everyone who have wished us well. Please feel free to offer advice.
